About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Management & Behaviour Support Officer to support the school's student development, discipline, behavioural intervention, and mentoring programmes. The successful candidate will work closely with school leaders, teachers, counsellors, and case management teams to provide guidance and support to students requiring behavioural, emotional, and social-emotional interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Student Discipline & Behaviour Support
  • Support the implementation of school discipline and student management processes.
  • Assist in managing daily student discipline matters, referrals, follow-up actions, and interventions.
  • Provide mentoring and supervision to students requiring behavioural support and closer monitoring.
  • Conduct restorative conversations and developmental interventions for students involved in misconduct cases.
  • Student Intervention & Mentoring
  • Manage designated pull-out, chill-out, and in-house suspension spaces.
  • Support students in emotional regulation and successful reintegration into classroom learning.
  • Conduct mentoring, coaching, and regular check-in sessions for identified students.
  • Facilitate individual and small-group intervention programmes.
  • Build positive relationships with at-risk and vulnerable students.
  • Support students in developing self-management, conflict resolution, resilience, and social-emotional skills.
  • De-escalation & Student Support
  • Respond to requests from teachers regarding escalated student behaviours.
  • Assist in safely de-escalating situations and escorting students to designated intervention areas when necessary.
  • Investigation & Case Support
  • Assist the school's Case Management Team (CMT) in conducting fact-finding and investigation processes related to discipline matters.
  • Gather statements and relevant information from students involved in incidents.
  • Support documentation, evidence collation, timeline preparation, and case reviews.
  • Records & Administration
  • Maintain and update student discipline and intervention records.
  • Document incidents, interventions, investigations, and follow-up actions accurately and promptly.
  • Prepare reports, case summaries, and behavioural trend analyses when required.
  • Ensure proper filing and record-keeping standards are maintained.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with the Case Management Team, School Counsellor, Special Educational Needs Officer (SENO), teachers, and school leaders.
  • Provide observations, case updates, and professional feedback during case discussions and intervention reviews.
  • Participate in student support and case review meetings when required.
  • Other Duties
  • Assist in supervision duties and student management activities.
  • Support school events, programmes, and initiatives related to student development and discipline.
  • Perform other student management-related duties assigned by the school.

Requirements

  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in youth work, social work, counselling, educational support, behavioural support, student management, mentoring, social services, or related fields.
  • Experience in a school environment, youth mentoring, behavioural intervention, case support, or investigation-related work will be an advantage.
  • Experience supporting adolescents with behavioural, emotional, attendance, or discipline-related challenges is preferred.

Additional Information

Discipline Support Officer- (10-Month Contract) Work Location: Boon Lay Secondary School Contract Period: 01 August 2026 to 30 June 2027 Working Hours Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break) No service required on Saturdays, Sundays, and Gazetted Public Holidays Non-Service Period No deployment is required during the school vacation period in December 2026. As such, payment will not be claimable during this period.
