Job Title : Assembly & Test Technician II, 1st shift Reporting To: Leader, Performance Work Schedule: Onsite - Torrance, CA Our team at Moog's Military Aircraft Group is looking for an Assembler Technician II on 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm) to join them. You will report to the Assembly and Test Supervisor and will have an onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA. Moog's Military Aircraft Group is a global leader in designing primary and secondary flight control actuation systems (FCAS) for military aircraft. We design and integrate FCAS systems for cutting edge aircraft like the F-35 Lightning II and the V280 Valor next generation tiltrotor Aircraft. To be considered for the Assembler role, here's what you'll need to bring with you: High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Minimum 3 years or more of Assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic) FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification is a plus FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirements Ability to read blueprints Assembly experience in the Aerospace industry Experience performing precision assembly and test of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical flight actuators Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers Experience with diagnosing/troubleshooting mechanical components and test failures Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook) Possess or be able to obtain Security Clearance As an Assembler, you will: Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators. Adjust or align through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits. Utilize a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as: Dial indicators, calipers and indicating micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements. Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices. Required to work from assembly instructions, both written and oral. Perform various test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic actuators using necessary hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic test equipment, fixtures and tools. Diagnose common test failures and recommends or performs rework to' correct discrepancies. Hold problem units for engineering disposition. Ensure that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and brings to the Supervisor's attention any condition that is abnormal. Responsible for testing repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures. Utilize mechanical or electronic measuring equipment and perform tests to validate the acceptance of the model to current test requirements. Order parts as necessary utilizing the RUR and WDS systems. Responsible for proper documentation of parts replaced and work performed on data sheets.
