About the role

As an Engineer on our User Safety team, you'll design and build internal systems to protect our users, support data collection, and ensure compliance with global regulations. You'll join a small, fast-paced team where you'll have the freedom to be creative and develop innovative safety tools that make a real impact. At amo, we're building social apps that bring friends together, and ensuring user safety is a critical part of our mission. You'll work directly with our User Safety lead to create the infrastructure that keeps our community safe.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build highly-scalable, efficient, and robust trust and safety platforms and tools, including data tracking pipelines.
  • Develop systems to enhance data collection, compliance, and safety processes.
  • Create APIs and integrations with third-party services.
  • Create intelligent workflows including automating complex decision-making processes.
  • Understand product objectives to develop user-friendly platforms that align with operational needs.
  • Ensure safety services have zero downtime and can scale as our user base grows.

Requirements

  • Required Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in trust and safety tooling or content moderation systems.
  • Proficiency in designing data structures, building algorithms, and at least one programming language (Go, Kotlin, C, or C++).
  • Great communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for user safety, human moderation, AI moderation, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience with web development and frontend technologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to online safety (DSA, etc.).
  • Experience working with machine learning models and data pipelines.
