Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly Contingencies & Commitments (C&C) reporting and prepare Audit Committee materials for senior leadership
  • Review and analyze business submissions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and reasonability of financial information
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and act as a key contact for financial reporting matters
  • Manage assigned lease portfolios, including lease assessments, classifications, modifications, and remeasurements in accordance with IFRS
  • Maintain lease data within the Company's lease management system (CLM) and ensure accuracy of lease-related account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual lease reporting, including disclosures, continuity schedules, budgets, and forecasts
  • Support financial reporting activities, audits, acquisitions/dispositions, system upgrades, and transformation initiatives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with SOX requirements and internal policies

Requirements

  • Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • University degree and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting and/or financial reporting experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS; lease accounting experience is considered an asset
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience conducting lease assessments
  • Proven ability to analyze large volumes of information, perform detailed reviews, and assess the reasonability of business inputs
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines, particularly during quarter-end periods
  • Experience with SAP, BPC, and reporting systems such as BW is considered an asset

Reporting to the Manager, Lease & Corporate Services Accounting, this role is responsible for supporting the accuracy and timeliness of lease accounting activities, as well as leading key quarterly Contingencies & Commitments (C&C) deliverables. This position plays a key role in quarter-end reporting, including the preparation of Audit Committee materials, while also supporting lease portfolios and contributing to cross-functional initiatives such as acquisitions, dispositions, and system enhancements.
