Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT), key to building reliable vehicles for space exploration.
  • Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes that support Blue Origin's mission.

  • Apply emerging AI technologies alongside traditional manufacturing engineering tools to optimize processes, reduce cycle times, and improve first-time quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university
  • Experience in a manufacturing engineering role: (0-3 years Level 1 Manufacturing Engineer, 3+ years Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer, 5+ years Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer, 8+ years Sr Manufacturing Engineer)
  • 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions
  • Experience in high-rate assembly lines for aerospace and/or automotive is preferred
  • Experience with at least one of the following manufacturing processes: machining, assembly, balancing rotating hardware, non-destructive test, precision clean
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T
  • Basic tooling or fixture design and fabrication
  • Experience working with Bill-of-materials and BOM reconciliation
  • Strong organizational, project management, and presentation skills (Gantt charting, JIRA tickets, MS Project, Confluence, or similar)
  • Prior manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or automotive
