About the role

Our mission is to deliver supply chain advantage - ensuring Amazon Robotics has the right components, from the right partners, at the right cost and time to accelerate innovation. We operate as a team of builders who take ownership of outcomes end-to-end. We value intellectual curiosity, rigorous analysis, and a bias for action - whether that means flying to a supplier site to resolve a quality issue or challenging a long-held sourcing assumption with data. We invest heavily in developing our people, believe in transparent feedback, and celebrate wins as a team. If

Additional Information

We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Silicon, Sensing & Compute strategic sourcing team. This team owns electronic component categories including processors, power components, wireless, passives, sensors, and cameras (image sensors, optics, off-the-shelf solutions). You will build, develop, and manage a team of Strategic Sourcing Managers, drive category and sourcing strategy development and execution, partner cross-functionally with Hardware Engineering and business stakeholders, and deliver measurable results against organizational goals. We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Silicon, Sensing & Compute strategic sourcing team. This team owns electronic component categories including processors (CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, SoCs, FPGAs, ASICs), power and mixed-signal, wireless, passives, and sensing/imaging (RGB, IR, ToF, LiDAR, MEMS, radar). The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in compute and/or camera/optics, established relationships with leading semiconductor and sensing suppliers (e.g., Nvidia, Broadcom, TI, Sony, OnSemi, Qualcomm), and strong knowledge of the semiconductor supply ecosystem - foundries, OSATs, fabless design houses, and module integrators. You will develop and execute multi-year supplier strategies that balance cost competitiveness, technology access, and supply resilience. This includes dual/multi-sourcing decisions, should-cost modeling, total cost of ownership frameworks, and complex agreement negotiation (LTAs, capacity reservations, JDAs). Experience with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and ODMs on new product development and production realization is strongly preferred. Key job responsibilities Team Leadership: Build, develop, and manage a high-performing team of Strategic Sourcing Managers; design scalable team structures; grow talent through coaching, strategic assignments, and leadership exposure. Category Strategy: Develop and execute 1- and 3-year sourcing strategies aligned to Robotics product roadmaps, including make-vs-buy analysis, dual-sourcing qualification, and geographic diversification. Cost Reduction: Drive year-over-year savings through negotiation, should-cost modeling, design-for-cost collaboration with engineering, competitive bidding, and volume aggregation. Supplier Management: Own end-to-end supplier relationships - performance scorecards, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, quarterly business reviews, and technology roadmap alignment. NPI Partnership: Engage with Hardware Engineering from architecture review through mass production to influence component selection, ensure supply readiness, and optimize for cost and longevity. Market Intelligence: Translate supply market dynamics (node transitions, capacity shifts, geopolitical risk) into actionable recommendations for engineering and leadership. Travel: ~15% domestic and international to supplier manufacturing sites. A day in the life Your morning begins reviewing pricing proposals from a memory supplier ahead of a quarterly agreement renewal - you align with your team on negotiation strategy and walk-away points. Mid-morning, you join a design review for a next-gen camera module, working with engineering to evaluate sensor candidates and guide supplier selection. After lunch, you update your supplier segmentation model to reflect shifting volumes across the compute portfolio, then prep a contract negotiation plan for a critical passive component supplier facing extended lead times. You close the day coaching a team member on structuring a multi-year supply agreement that locks in capacity and pricing commitments.
