- -OR- Two (2) year Associate's degree with two (2) years of related work in a field related

- Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years

In this role, you will oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of Sarasota County's wastewater collection, reclaimed water, lift station, STEP, low-pressure sewer, and vacuum sewer systems. You'll coordinate field operations, provide technical leadership, and help ensure critical utility infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and reliably for our community. Job Description: Lead, schedule, and supervise the maintenance and repair of lift stations, STEP and low-pressure sewer systems, vacuum sewer systems, reclaimed water distribution systems, and wastewater collection infrastructure Coordinate daily and weekly work activities to ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of maintenance operations Inspect maintenance and repair activities to verify quality, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards Train, mentor, and develop staff on equipment operation, maintenance practices, safety procedures, and departmental processes Manage employee scheduling, resource allocation, and work assignments to maximize operational efficiency Procure parts, materials, and equipment necessary to support maintenance and repair activities Review and process work orders, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, bid specifications, and other operational documents Support the implementation and monitoring of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to meet service level expectations Monitor vehicle and equipment usage, condition, and maintenance needs to ensure operational readiness Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with County standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. *On-Call is required About You:
