This role is part of our Strategic Industry Expertise (SIE) capability that is a centralised highly influential capability/team that drives commercial growth across our entire customer base - by elevating our value proposition to address strategic objectives for our largest customers. We engage with senior stakeholders in customer organisations as market experts & trusted thought partners. This role combines deep market expertise in the pulp, paper and packaging markets, particularly in the European markets with a strong regional expertise and network to understand our customers' strategic priorities and position Fastmarkets' world-class offerings effectively. Europe is one of the world's most significant players in the pulp, paper, and packaging space. The broader European paper packaging market was valued at around $100 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow steadily toward $158 billion by 2033. Europe's pulp and paper industry is far more than a commodity sector - it sits at the intersection of sustainability policy, industrial manufacturing, and the circular economy. This informs the strategic priorities for some of our largest European customers in these markets. As part of the role, you will engage with our customers who have exposure to our pulp, paper and packaging related offerings as an industry expert and provide valuable insights to key senior stakeholders in the customer organizations. You will be a valued thought partner to our customers and support their strategic priorities through an expertise led consultative dialogue that positions our offering at the heart of the customer's objectives. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in how Fastmarkets' offerings drive strategic value for our European customers' decision-making and is able to leverage our extensive team of market analysts and price reporters strategically and in a resource efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Support growth of Fastmarkets in key customer forest (pulp, paper and packaging) customer segments in Europe - which include but are not limited to forest producers, various downstream customers where packaging is critical, traders, banks and financial institutions.
  • Own and present in-depth strategic insights relevant to senior stakeholders and decision makers in the customers customer organisations (positioned as Fastmarkets Point of Views (PoVs) with authority), demonstrating how Fastmarkets' solutions meet specific strategic customer objectives.
  • Drive significant revenue growth by identifying opportunities to expand business through: Supporting successful commercial wins with key existing customers in Europe by providing expanded value through targeted engagement and through embedding our products and services better
  • Expanding and elevating the strategic value proposition with customers to enable new opportunities from our wider suite of analytical offerings targeted in pulp, paper and packaging.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Commercial teams to drive revenue growth and play the role of value owner for high value renewals.
  • Establish a strong relationship network with senior stakeholders in our European customer base, networking actively across the industries to develop valuable connections.
  • Develop and own strategic view on market conditions (headwinds and tailwinds) that impact our customer base and how we position ourselves to drive revenue growth
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to refine strategies, improve product offerings, and provide enhanced customer support in the region.
  • Conduct and document high-impact pre- and post-sales activities, ensuring comprehensive client engagement and contribute to the internal quarterly and annual sales and financial planning cycles.
