Our Banner Boswell Ortho PCU is a combined acute care specialty unit serving both Progressive Care and Medical Surgical patients as part of our Progress in Place initiative. Our 5A/5B is a 41-bed unit specializing in the care of post operative orthopedic patients including pre and post-op surgical care for a wide range of orthopedic cases ranging from total joint replacements to fractures. As a RN on our unit, you will assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care of our patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. 5D is a 20-bed orthopedics and GI post-surgical Medical/Surgical unit, dedicated to the care of postoperative gastrointestinal surgeries. This inpatient unit specializes in the care of GI patients including pre and post-op surgical care for a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders as well as general medical/surgical overflow. As a RN on our unit you will have the opportunity to work with a highly efficient team surrounded by engaged team members working to meet positive patient outcomes with an emphasis on demonstrating our value of Customer Obsession . The team focus is on creating a healthy work environment through collaboration, hourly rounding, prompt answering of call lights, culture of clean and quiet and acknowledging a "one team" culture. We are filling both F ull Time Day shift ( 7:00am-7:30pm) and Full Time Night shift (7:00pm-7:30am) positions, working three / 12-hour shifts per week. You will have the opportunity utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage and enjoy an 18%-night shift differential and a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential when applicable. **Sign on bonus for FT Night shift is $20,000.00, bonus for FT Day shift is $10,000.00. POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy. 2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care.
