Responsibilities
- Install Helios quantum computer systems on customer premises, including shipment preparation, relocation, installation, and performance validation
- Develop and improve detailed plans and work instructions for installation and service activities

- Required competencies and certifications
- Ph.D. completed
- Minimum 8 years of post-graduate experience (including M.S. or Ph.D.) as a technical contributor or leader in atomic physics or quantum computing roles
- Eligibility for international travel
- Compliance with U.S. Government national security requirements: candidates must not be nationals of the People's Republic of China or Russia unless also U.S. citizens
- Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Deep knowledge of trapped-ion technology, high-performance quantum computing, and hardware integration and validation
- Proven atomic physics research and development experience demonstrated by scholarly publications, successful programs, or product launches
- Experience with lasers, laser cooling, atom trapping, cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum systems, analog and digital electronics, laboratory hardware control, Python programming, physical modeling, and data analysis
- Strong commitment to exceeding performance and schedule expectations
- Proficiency in documenting work through shared notes, standard work documentation, test plans, troubleshooting guides, and configuration records
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
