About the role

The Behavioral Health Clinician will provide assessment and evidenced-based care to individuals, families, and groups in a variety of settings. Presbyterian Medical Group seeks an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) to join our established Behavioral Health Program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This clinic-based therapy role with our adult behavioral health clinic team will focus on individual therapy with adults who have varying diagnoses. The Presbyterian Behavioral Health therapy model is goal oriented-evidence based treatment. We offer therapy patients goal-oriented treatment and focus on behavioral models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy using solution focused therapies and evidence-based treatments such as cognitive processing and exposure therapy. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus with a two-year commitment to a clinic-based role. Dedicated to improving the health of our community, Behavioral Health at Presbyterian offers treatment for lasting recovery from substance abuse, behavioral health conditions and psychiatric emergencies. Our full-service program supports adults, children and adolescents, and includes inpatient services, a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic, emergency and consultative services and behavioral medicine services embedded in primary care. This clinic based position at our adult behavioral health clinic provides a collegial atmosphere and 1 hour appointments with no call requirement.

Responsibilities

  • *Demonstrates the therapeutic core conditions of genuineness, empathy and positive regard when interacting with patients and significant others, according to generally accepted clinical practice.
  • *Performs risk management documentation and follow-up action requirements, e.g. responding to patient complaints, contributing to completion of Problem Resolution Report and Report of Adverse Risk Event (R.A.R.E).
  • *Recommends program cost control measures to supervisor.
  • *Participates in the internal Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process, such as peer review, audits, Joint Commission survey preparation, and implementation of clinical paths.
  • *Selects and gives clinical supervision to Adjunctive Therapists and student interns to ensure these individuals practice appropriate behavior- and skill-based competencies for each of these positions.
  • *Keeps an accurate, complete and current status of documentation onto the patients chart.
  • *Recommends safety and therapeutic quality measures for unit areas or rooms to charge nurse.
  • *Conveys professional role model example for other staff through quality of own clinical practice; work habits; availing self to others as a consultant on clinical issues; attending ongoing internal and external professional development events.
