This position supports the Army Prepositioned Stocks - 4 (APS-4) Program, Multi-Role Bridge Company (MRBC) section, located at Camp Humphreys, Korea. The Machinist will comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR's Zero Harm program. Job Summary The Machinist provides precision fabrication, machining, and welding services in direct support of COSIS-based maintenance and repair operations for the APS-4 MRBC equipment set at Camp Humphreys, Korea. The Machinist works across a range of metalworking disciplines to fabricate, repair, and modify components and assemblies for float bridge systems, heavy wheeled tactical vehicles, and associated equipment maintained on the APS-4 program. In addition to dedicated machining and fabrication duties, the Machinist assists maintenance mechanics on production tasks when workload and availability allow, supporting the overall maintenance mission of the MRBC section. The Machinist is proficient in multiple welding processes including TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and Stick (SMAW) welding, and is experienced working with both steel and aluminum materials. The Machinist complies with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR's Zero Harm program. Roles and Responsibilities Perform precision machining operations using lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and related machine tools to fabricate, repair, and modify components in support of MRBC equipment maintenance. Perform structural and precision welding using TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), Stick (SMAW), and other applicable welding processes on steel, aluminum, and other metals to support equipment repair and fabrication requirements. Fabricate replacement parts and custom components from raw stock to blueprint specifications, technical drawings, and work orders when OEM parts are unavailable or require field modification. Perform inspections on completed machining and welding work to verify dimensional accuracy, weld integrity, and conformance to technical standards. Support COSIS-based preventive maintenance and repair of MRBC float bridge systems, bridging assemblies, and heavy wheeled vehicle platforms including the M30 Bridge Erection Boat, M16 Improved Ribbon Bridge, M17 Interior Bay, and M1977A4 Common Bridge Transporter. Assist maintenance mechanics on production tasks when available, including PMCS support, component repairs, and unscheduled maintenance actions. Diagnose or troubleshoot source of component and system malfunctions; determine required repairs and fabrication actions. Maintain and account for provided and personal tools, equipment, and assigned work areas. Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and work orders. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials including welding gases, solvents, and metalworking fluids in compliance with environmental regulations. Comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR's Zero Harm program. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications) Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport. Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License. Ability to provide documentation to qualify as US EXPAT Invited Contractor Status and SOFA Visa IAW USFK 700-19 Regulation. Favorable adjudication of an NACI background check. High School diploma or GED plus five years of directly related work experience in machining, fabrication, and welding. In lieu of formal coursework, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered. Proficiency in machining operations using lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and related equipment. Demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding processes to include TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and Stick (SMAW) welding. Experience welding steel and aluminum materials; ability to select appropriate process, filler material, and technique based on base metal and application. Welding Certification is required (AWS D1.1 Structural Steel and/or AWS D1.2 Structural Aluminum, or equivalent DoD-recognized certification).
