Planning Supervisor Mueller Water Products is the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries and has an immediate opening for an Planning Supervisor in our newest Kimball, TN facility. As a Planning Supervisor , you will be empowered to bring your abilities and expertise to develop key programs, influence and develop a team, and collaborate with other peers to execute best practices in the Materials department. The Planning Supervisor leads the activities of the assigned Master Scheduler(s) and Planner(s) responsible for scheduling production for assigned value streams. This ideal candidate for this position will have a high level of organization, excellent communication, and coordination skills in a safe and effective manner to drive continuous improvement and ensure processes are implemented and followed. Primary Responsibilities: Design and implement comprehensive planning strategies to optimize resource allocation, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency. Oversee all aspects of the planning process, including scheduling, forecasting, and capacity planning. Ensure seamless coordination between different departments to align planning efforts with organizational objectives. Own the plant SIOP process for assigned value streams, ensure acceptance through collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of planning activities. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures as necessary. Lead a team of master schedulers and planners, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful execution of planning initiatives. Foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment focused on achieving collective goals. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as production managers, supply chain professionals, and finance teams, to gather input, align planning activities with business goals, and address any cross-functional issues or challenges. Continuously evaluate planning processes and procedures to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance planning effectiveness and adaptability. Stay updated on relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies related to planning activities. Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and take proactive measures to mitigate any potential risks or compliance issues. Generate regular reports and analysis on planning performance, highlighting key insights, trends, and areas for improvement. Present findings to senior management and provide recommendations for strategic decision-making. Other duties as assigned Required Skills: Advanced computer skills including the use of Office Suite and especially Excel Advanced previous use and understanding of MRP systems, JDE a plus Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and distribute time sensitive and accurate data Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing practices Ability to adapt and suggest system & technology changes with current systems Ability to blend multiple sources of data to formulate opinions and recommendations, possesses analytical
