Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with open-source VoIP tools such as FreeSWITCH and Kamailio. Direct experience with these is a strong signal; adjacent experience is welcome
  • Comfort operating in a highly cross-functional environment. You work fluidly with networking, operations, and product teams and communicate technical complexity clearly

Position Overview Axon 911's Carbyne Voice team is building the infrastructure that handles emergency calls - in the cloud. This is not a monitoring layer on top of existing telephony; it is the actual call-handling engine, responsible for every packet, every route, and every millisecond of uptime in a life-critical system. As a Senior VoIP Engineer, you will help design, build, and maintain this infrastructure, ensuring that no call fails - ever. Your work will directly influence the reliability of 911 dispatch for PSAPs across the country, while advancing one of the most novel cloud-native voice platforms in public safety. This is a hybrid role , with an expectation of four days per week in our Manhattan office.
