We are looking for a responsible and highly motivated Research Associate to join the Controlled Environments Team. We are looking for candidates who take initiative, love to learn, work hard, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment. We have an exciting opportunity to join our company at our Johnston, Iowa research facility. Responsibilities - What You'll Do: Support our research pipelines by overseeing plant movement from our automated to non-automated (static) greenhouses on our Pot Logistics Team. Duties involve operating a tug cart with training and prepping, sorting, moving, and discarding plants. Routine tasks include: Scout plant movement from automated to static greenhouses based on crop maturity. Create activity plans in internal software and determine floor support needs for plant movement. Forecast and plan static placement up to four weeks prior to plant movement. Upkeep room tracking and space assignment data via Spotfire. Collaborate with process teams and project managers to support successful experiment outcomes. Follow and maintain internal process protocols for plant movement. Provide floor support as needed (for example: shoot bagging, discards, and other assigned tasks). Qualifications- What You'll Need: Associate's degree or 2-year degree required. Bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, plant physiology, molecular biology, entomology, or plant pathology preferred; or bachelor's degree in related field or three or more years of related experience also acceptable. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety/ergonomics protocols are essential. Excellent communication and organizational skills, high self-motivation, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and the ability to build competency in external and internal research software as needed. Ability to take initiative and maintain a thoughtful approach in a dynamic work environment. Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 lbs. Must be able to work repetitive tasks in a warm, humid greenhouse environment with pollen present year-round. Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasionally, non-regular weekend or holiday work may be required. ***Please note there is no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance provided for this role.
