Under the direction of the Coordinator, Student Information System (SIS), the Student Information System Administrator is responsible for supporting the activities associated with the Howard County Public School Systems SIS. The SIS Administrator will support current and future learning tools, technologies, and related processes and activities. The SIS Administrator will also meet with stakeholders from different parts of the school system to research and help implement required updates as directed . This role will work with the Student Information System team to help document and implement changes to the system.
Requirements
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university .
- At least three (3) years of experience in a technical role working with an Enterprise Applications, such as Student Information System (SIS), Learning Management System (LMS ) or Data Warehouse (DW) platforms.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience as a system administrator of Student Information System (SIS ), Learning Management System (LMS ) or Data Warehouse (DW) platforms.
- Experience working within a preK-12 or college/university setting.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise systems .
- Experience in data extraction and analysis, using queries , spreadsheets , and other tools to manipulate data .
- Experience documenting system changes and functionality.
- ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

- Configuring the SIS .
- Performing administrative tasks in the SIS as needed, including running and preparing reports; completing enrollments and data entry; system management; system monitoring; functionality validation; and completing statistical analysis.
- Create or improve process workflows for both internal administration of the SIS and for end users.
- Researching, testing, and validating updates
- Providing routine and non-routine technical support and assistance to end users by troubleshooting and resolving SIS functionality issues and communicating resolutions in a timely manner .
- Maintaining expert knowledge and skills on all evolving SIS features and procedures;
- Working with vendors to evaluate, integrate, and troubleshoot integrations.
- Prepare and work with confidential and sensitive data and documents while adhering to CIPA, FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
- Supporting and providing recommendations to business owners and D epartment of I nformation T echnology staff.
