WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE In this role, you will: Develop and qualify upstream models at bench and pilot scale for use in supporting commercial biologics manufacturing and technology transfers. Design and execute studies, as a lead or member of a team, to support process optimization and investigation efforts. Analyze scientific data. Develop and communicate outcomes based on your analysis to relevant teams and managers. Author technical reports and electronic notebook entries in a manner compliant with company expectations. Actively participate in group discussions by communicating problems and proposing solutions. Manage and execute independent projects alongside team-based project studies. Work under limited supervision, receive instructions on complex problems, and develop scientific activities to support team goals. HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED (Minimum Requirements) Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a master's degree with 0+ years of experience; OR an associate's degree with 6 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience. Deep understanding of upstream bioprocessing or related sub-field (i.e. microbiology, biochemistry, fermenters). Strong oral and written communication skills. Robust analytical abilities. Proficiency with basic statistical methods (T-test, ANOVA, regression analysis) and graphing. Proficiency in using personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and relevant scientific software. Comfortable and interested in using common AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot to improve efficiency and solve problems. Experience troubleshooting both equipment and scientific problems. BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE (Preferred Requirements) Proficiency in intermediate or advanced statistical methods including DOE design, PCA analysis, and other multivariate analysis techniques. Experience or knowledge related to digitizing a laboratory environment (networking, databasing, user interface development). Experience or knowledge of GMP practices including change management. Experience supporting commercial investigations. Experience developing an AI agent or digital workflow (i.e. Power app, Power automate, or Power BI). Worked with microbial pathogens. Experience with facility design and/or troubleshooting equipment issues. Familiar with DMAIC principles and processes. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, crouching, bending. Ability to perform mathematical calculations and perform complex data analysis. NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Shift and schedule flexibility is required as the processes we support dictate the timing of the work. All attempts are made to schedule work only during normal business hours for all workers. No routine travel expectations. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10.0% of the base salary.
