Responsibilities

  • Receives patients, physicians, and employees to the department. Collects all necessary demographics, information and documentation to accurately process the individual.
  • Schedules appointments, tests, procedures or lab work for the department.

Position Status: Part time Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift (United States of America) Hours per week: 24 Job Information Exemption Status: Non-Exempt A Brief Overview Registration staff graciously greet all patients and visitors to Stormont Vail. Provides a positive image to customers by creating a friendly atmosphere and placing a high priority on meeting customer needs in a courteous manner. Receives and checks patients in as they arrive for their appointment; collects demographics and insurance information from patient; schedules patient appointments; answers telephone and receives messages for physicians and staff; receives co-payment for services when applicable. Initiates the admission process and receives payment for services. Education Qualifications High School Diploma / GED Required Experience Qualifications 1 year Experience in customer service. Required Experience in an office setting. Preferred Billing or payment processing experience. Preferred Experience typing or using a computer. Preferred Skills and Abilities Knowledge of patient rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures. Able to learn and understand basic medical terminology used in the department.
