Concrete Finisher/Skilled Labourer

Requirements

• Must have 3-5 years of experience in 'dry concrete finishing' in the heavy construction industry, including; grinding and chipping concrete, patching and repairing cone holes and sack rubbing walls
• Knowledge of grout mixes/mixing for colour match
• Must be 'fit tested' with a respiratory-mask
• Concrete pouring & wet finishing experience
• Experience on 7 meter high walls is an asset
• Knowledge of safe operation of tools and equipment, and workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
• Strong communication and positive teamwork skills
• Valid WHMIS, Elevated/Aerial Work Platform and Working at Heights certificates are required

Position Summary Under the direction of Civil Superintendent the Concrete Finisher is responsible for waterproofing, grouting, finishing, cutting & coring concrete, floor pouring, stain removal and cleaning, curing concrete, floor leveling, finishing, high tolerance finishing and slab installation. This position requires knowledge of the heavy construction industry. Specifically the practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, quality control and safety associated with this industry. The Cement Finisher must be proficient at the following tasks: concrete finishing for heavy construction concrete products.
