Role Purpose The Revenue Protection Officer is responsible for safeguarding the DPD's revenue by ensuring that pricing structures, surcharges, and contractual terms are accurately applied, effectively communicated, and consistently aligned with agreed commercial strategies. Working cross-functionally with CRM, Commercial and Sales teams, the role ensures that revenue leakage is minimised and that all pricing actions support the delivery of the company's revenue targets. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that commercial decisions translate into realised revenue, by bridging operational execution and strategic pricing, the Revenue Protection Officer ensures that the business achieves its financial targets without erosion from avoidable errors or misalignment. Key Accountabilities Revenue Assurance & Protect Monitor and analyse pricing, surcharges, surcharge penetration rates, and billing data to identify risks to projected revenue. Ensure all price increases, surcharges, and commercial changes are correctly implemented and reflected in billing systems. Investigate and resolve discrepancies that may lead to revenue leakage. Develop controls and processes to prevent future revenue loss. Cross Functional Collaboration Partner closely with CRM teams to ensure accurate data management and pricing integrity within systems. Support Account Managers in understanding the revenue impact of pricing decisions and customer agreements. Work with Commercial and Sales teams to validate that proposed pricing strategies align with revenue targets and margin expectations. Collaborate with the CRM team to ensure consistent communication of pricing changes to customers. Pricing Governance Review and validate pricing changes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and contractual agreements. Track and report on the financial impact of pricing decisions, including discounts, rebates, and surcharges. Ensure governance processes are followed for all non-standard pricing arrangements. Reporting & Analysis Produce regular reporting on revenue performance, highlighting risks, variances, and opportunities. Provide insights into trends such as under-recovery of costs, missed surcharges, or incorrect pricing application. Support forecasting and budgeting processes by providing accurate revenue-related data. Process Improvement Highlight potential revenue sources not yet being billed Highlight risks of over-billing Identify inefficiencies in current pricing and billing processes and recommend improvements. Support the implementation of system enhancements to improve pricing accuracy and revenue tracking. Drive standardisation of pricing practices across the business. Key Relationships Internal: CEO Executive Team, Commercial - Sales - CRM - Customer, Finance, Billing and invoicing teams. External: Strategic Accounts, Key Account and SME Customers, Third-Party Partners and Carriers, Auditors, Legal and compliance. Experience & Capability Experience in revenue assurance, pricing analysis, or commercial finance within a logistics, transport, or similar operational environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify revenue risks. High attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple departments. Strong understanding of CRM systems and billing platforms. Advanced Excel skills: experience with data visualisation tools is desirable. Commercial awareness with a clear understanding of how pricing impacts revenue and profitability.
