About the role

You will be an important member of our Department of Endocrinology by ensuring the delivery of high-quality person-centred care to all patients, and consultative services on clinical problems related to diabetes mellitus, general endocrinology, pituitary disorders and metabolic bone disease. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to provide effective and efficient evidence-based care, whilst also demonstrating commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. Provision of proper care to patients admitted for the investigation of endocrine disorders; Liaison with other units on the proper care of patients with diabetes mellitus and other endocrine problems Liaison with diabetes educators, dieticians and other health professionals Supervision of a BPT1 resident on rotation Attendance in outpatient clinics in diabetes, endocrinology, pituitary, lipid and metabolic bone disorders Overseeing tests of endocrine function on an outpatient's basis Reporting of endocrine tests under supervision Teaching medical students and hospital resident staff Participation in research and audit projects Regular presentations at the Department's weekly clinical meeting and various other clinical meetings Attendance at grand rounds and journal club meetings Participation in the after-hours roster on call roster at the discretion of the director of endocrinology Participation in clinical trials To assist the director with organising educational activities within the department To attend off campus endocrine clinics at the discretion of the director of endocrinology Successful candidates will commence their post with SVHM on Monday 01 February 2027 - Sunday 06 February 2028. Classifications for this position will range from HM25 - HM30 ($129,048.40 - $177,622.12) pro rata for part-time.

Requirements

• Full working rights in Australia
• Hold current AHPRA registration
• MBBS or equivalent
• Hold a current, or willing to undergo a satisfactory National Police Check
• Have a commitment to deliver the best in patient care and safety
• Demonstrated experience applying medical knowledge towards sound clinical diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients
• Demonstrated effective communication with patients, relatives, staff and colleagues
