The State Budget Division provides fiscal policy coordination and support for Executive Branch leadership as well as guidance and oversight to state agencies in the development and execution of the Nebraska state budget. They are currently seeking two Budget Management & Operations Analysts to join their team. These positions will consult with state agencies on the evaluation of operational systems performance, operations analysis, performance goals, grant availability, and comprehensive cost analysis with the ultimate goal of achieving significant improvements in the quality, throughput, and cost of government systems across the State of Nebraska. This position can be underfilled as a Level I, with the potential of becoming a Level II. Must complete required minimum qualifications for a Budget Management Analyst II within the first year of employment. Should these requirements not be met, work status and requirements will be assessed at that time. Starting pay for Level I is $23.545 per hour. Level II starting pay is $29.250 per hour. Apply to join our team today! Job Duties: Provides fiscal policy and management support, advice, analysis, and consultation to the Governor, state agencies, and other government officials. Evaluates program effectiveness and efficiency and implements recommendations on program and budget policy, emphasis, and direction. Develops, reviews and monitors financial and operational reports. Reviews and analyzes agency finances and operations with subsequent presentation of analysis to the Governor and senior staff. Researches and drafts legislation and prepares fiscal notes for executive and legislative determination of fiscal impact of specific legislative bills. Confers and makes formal presentations regarding options to agency directors and the Governor concerning specific agency programs, facilities and staffing patterns.
