- Certified Sports Officials officiate recreational activities and aid the recreation site leads and staff. Sports Officials will officiate adult league games. Games are held throughout Denver's network of parks, recreation centers, and sports facilities.
- As a Certified Sports Official with CityWide Sports, you'll play a vital role in creating a fun, fair, and dynamic atmosphere for participants. Here are some of the key duties you'll take on:
- Officiating at sports events including flag football, basketball, softball, and other adult sports leagues
- Communicating with CityWide Sports Program Coordinators by telephone, e-mail, or in-person to provide information and discuss problems
- Inspecting playing surfaces or fields to ensure that it meets the regulations of the sanctioning body and is safe for the players.
- Inspecting sporting equipment and/or examining participants to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations
- Signaling participants or other officials to make them aware of infractions or to otherwise regulate play
- Explaining disputed calls to players (when appropriate)
- Performing other related duties as assigned or requested
