Security Specialist

About the role

You will serve as a multi-disciplined Security Specialist responsible for supporting Personnel Security, Information Security, Industrial Security, Physical Security, Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP), and Insider Threat program requirements in the Security Division of Headquarters for the NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING SYSTEMS COMMAND. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Recording personnel security information in the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) or current applicable official systems of record. 2) Applying Federal Laws, Department of Defense (DoD) and agency regulations to determine types of investigations; 3) Processing applications through Electronic Questionnaires for Investigative Processing (e-QIP); 4) Providing guidance on policies or procedures related to personnel security, adjudication or suitability; 5) Implementing existing security directives and making recommendations to resolve unique and complex security problems. **NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.** Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
