Description of Work This position is located at Foothills Correctional Institution in Morganton, Burke County, NC. Foothills Correctional Institution is a close/minimum custody facility. Reporting to the Correctional Housing Unit Manager I, this position provides supervision for subordinate officers regarding their assigned tasks with male inmates in a Minimum Custody State correctional facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Key Job Duties: 1- Conducting shift line-up, making shift assignments, and inspecting personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post 2- Supervising and assigning subordinate officers to a particular area or post. 3- Completing, reviewing, and maintaining time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations, and administrative forms. 4- Accounting for persons and funds to ensure that all assigned equipment is operationally ready. 5- Responsible for subordinate officers' activities relating to the custody and welfare of offenders. 6- Working rotating and various duty assignments within the defined level of work. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $37,377-$65,408 Salary Grade: NC07 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
