Estimator I

Responsibilities

• Analyzes bid and design documents to perform quantity takeoffs to support labor, equipment, and material cost development.
• Estimates labor, material and equipment costs of construction based on design drawings and specifications.
• Collects construction cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Gathers and utilizes industry data/publications for estimating purposes.
• Uses estimating software to support the development of cost estimates with guidance from lead/senior estimators.
• Creates cost models for cost estimating elements.
• Supports the preparation of independent cost estimates as part of change management, claims analysis, and price negotiations.

Requirements

• In addition, this role monitors project budgets, expenditures, and forecasts; produces reporting and analysis to support project and business leadership; and ensures compliance with regulatory, client, and company requirements, including DBE participation and documentation standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field, or
• In lieu of education, 4 years relevant experience with the development of cost estimates
• What We Prefer:
• College coursework or equivalent technical coursework in design drawings and specifications reading, quantity take offs and cost estimating fundamentals
