Production Engineer

Responsibilities

• Production & Process Support
• Support day-to-day production operations to ensure smooth and continuous manufacturing.
• Analyse production processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, yield, and throughput.
• Identify process gaps and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Production Planning & Coordination
• Work closely with Production, Planning, and Engineering teams to meet production schedules and output targets.
• Support line balancing, manpower planning, and material readiness during shifts.
• Quality Control & Improvement
• Monitor product quality and process parameters to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Support quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
• Troubleshoot equipment, process, and production issues to minimise downtime.
• Escalate critical issues appropriately and support recovery actions during production disruptions.
• Equipment & Maintenance Support
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering teams on preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Support equipment qualification, setup, and improvement projects.
• Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities.
• Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety rules, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a safe working environment and support EHS initiatives on the production floor.
• Data Analysis & Reporting
• Collect and analyse production data (output, yield, downtime, defects).
• Prepare shift reports and support performance tracking and improvement activities.
• Team Support & Training
• Work closely with operators and technicians to implement best practices.
• Support training and coaching on process discipline, quality, and safety requirements.
• Inventory & Material Control
• Monitor raw material usage and WIP to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Support material flow and coordination with Warehouse and Planning teams.
• Role Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline.
• 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment (depending on seniority).
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production workflows.
• Experience in shift-based operations is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement concepts is preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems and basic data analysis tools.
