Responsibilities

  • Drive proactive sales activity across MICE, corporate, social events, sporting and group segments
  • Identify, qualify and convert new business through structured prospecting, telemarketing and client engagement - securing a minimum of ten sales appointments each week
  • Nurture and grow key accounts to maximise total account value across rooms, conference, food & beverage and hotel services
  • Conduct site inspections, familiarisations and client appointments with precision and Sofitel finesse
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, industry forums and sporting events to elevate brand presence and unlock new opportunities
  • Prepare tailored proposals, RFP responses and commercial agreements, negotiating with confidence within approved rate structures
  • Convert MICE enquiries for both short-term and forward-year business through disciplined trace and follow-up
  • Coach and mentor Sales Executives and Coordinators, building team capability and consistent commercial outcomes
  • Partner with Revenue, Marketing, Operations and our Sofitel sister properties to align strategy and uncover cross-sell opportunities
  • Uphold Sofitel brand standards with professionalism, pride and a commitment to the art of French hospitality
  • What you will bring to the role:
  • Proven experience in sales, ideally within a luxury or premium hospitality environment
  • A track record of driving enquiries, converting new business and delivering against revenue targets
  • A commitment and passion for delivering refined, five-star service
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage a pipeline, prepare compelling proposals and negotiate with confidence
  • Exceptional attention to detail and pride in presentation - both in your work and personally
  • The ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence at all levels
  • Flexibility to travel interstate and work across evenings, weekends and out-of-business hours as required
  • Excellent time-management skills and a proactive approach to building relationships and uncovering opportunity
