Performs a variety of technical and clerical duties that will require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative to apply special procedure examinations. Assumes responsibility for specific special procedures examinations and/or may be assigned duties, as requested. What you will do: Produces Angiography examinations at a level of optimum technical quality. ARRT, IDNS, BLS certification (CPR). Post-graduate experience preferred and a minimum of 2 years general experience in Radiology completed for on the job training. Good written and verbal skills to effectively communicate with patients and physicians. Reviews and completes required forms and required data for hospital computer systems. Participates equally in rotating On-call schedule. Maintains adequate levels of inventory in Q-sight and/or notifying appropriate person. Successfully completes and maintains Level I competencies as stated above. Minimum of 3 years of experience Demonstrates working knowledge of all department IR x-ray equipment and IR supplies. Manages and maintains inventory in Q-sight under the supervision of Lead Tech Participates equally in rotating On-call schedule. Demonstrates ability to perform all routine and emergent IR exams independently. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of departmental software to manage patient schedules, requisitions, charges, image processing, and image transfer. Demonstrates working knowledge of RIS (Radnet) and PACS. Participates in IR lab projects and/or data collection. Assumes managerial responsibilities when appropriate. Acts as a resource for staff members, patients, physicians etc. Assists in staff training and orientation of Level I technologists. Rotates to IR labs at NorthShore facilities, as needed. Successfully completes and maintains Level I and II competencies as stated above. Minimum of 5 years of experience Maintains On-call and staffing schedules. Assumes additional managerial responsibilities, e.g. involvement in Performance Improvement Committees and projects outside immediate IR clinical setting. Assist others to solve problems and/or manage conflicts. Q-sight maintenance and report generation Ensures continuity of staff training (Levels I and II) and involvement in the direction of student (outside affiliations) clinical hours. Rotates to IR labs at NorthShore facilities, as needed. Successfully completes I, II and III competencies as stated above. Q-sight maintenance and report generation Manages all aspects of IR inventory Oversees physician dictations. (I.e. notifies of undictated reports in a timely fashion) Proficient in IR coding/billing. Functions as coding/billing liaison to hospital coders. Assumes all aspects of managerial responsibilities including but not limited to staff schedule, annual reviews, actively participates in departmental initiatives, etc. Functions as Charge Person in the IR Lab as necessary Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good communication with radiologists, attending physicians, departmental supervisors, staff members, and all other hospital personnel and customers. Must be able to fit in add-ons, stat cases and inpatients in a timely and appropriate manner. Maintains a high standard of patient satisfaction, as encouraged by the C.A.R.E. Committee. Maintains a positive supportive work environment with co-workers. Attends CPR classes to maintain re-certification. Maintains appropriate state license and national board certification. Completes all paperwork and submits films to a radiologist in a timely manner. Assists in filing of films and retrieval of reports at all sites. Works as diagnostic radiology technologist, as needed (producing non-angiographic radiographs). Acts as receptionist as needed. Answers phones with proper etiquette. Assists in training of new technologist personnel. Assists with transporting of patients as needed to maintain department work flow. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and emergency callback. Ensures adequate staffing and coverage including on-call coverage, as required. May be required to work at other NorthShore off-site facilities to accommodate patients or to maintain adequate staffing levels and past scheduled hours.
