Job Description As a member of Agilent's Materials Engineering team, you are tasked to manage a list of assigned commodities. The job requires the Materials Engineer (ME) to collaborate with internal teams and external parties. Externally, the ME will work closely with Agilent's global suppliers on quality, reliability, cost and delivery. ME continuously explores new technologies available in the marketplace. Within Agilent, the ME will interface with multiple teams, namely: - Procurement team on prices, lead time, delivery challenges, new MPN setup. Manufacturing Engineering team on technical issues, qualification, value engineering, continuous improvements, etc. R&D team on NPIs, Qualification, Resourcing. Logistics team on proper stock storage, in-co terms, defect reduction. Production team on NCM disposition, workmanship defect reduction, continuous improvement. The ME is responsible for ensuring Agilent's factory receives quality raw materials needed for production; timely, compliant and reasonably cost from all over the world. Job Responsibilities: Managing Supplier Quality Performance TQRDC SCARS PCNs Material Disruption management Working with cross functional engineering teams to drive Field Defects reduction (External) DPPM reduction DEFOA analysis and improvement plans Improve products' reliability Production Non-Conformance Material reduction (Internal) Execute Continuous Improvement initiative. Analyze defect types. Mitigate Assurance of Supply challenges Shortages EOL Tariff Initiate Annual Material Cost Savings initiatives VAVE Resource Commodity/Subject Matter Expert - participate actively in NPI, including influencing the design or material selection to ensure manufacturability. May redesign products/parts to meet cost objective Identifies and qualifies alternative materials when needed Lead Capacity Expansion activities at suppliers Lead BOM setup for NPI LLM sourcing for NPI New Capability exploration Work with Compliance Engineering team to ensure compliance to global regulatory standards Work with suppliers to clarify specifications to meet quality, cost and manufacturability goals. Perform risk assessment of in-coming materials. Coordinate engineering change managements, due to material, supplier or process changes. Transfer of manufacturing sites Out-sourcing In-sourcing Asset Management - Agilent's assets at Suppliers
