Responsibilities
- Registers patients for scheduled and unscheduled visits, updating demographics verifying insurance , confirming benefits, documenting actions, and ensuring compliance with Medicare and payer guidelines .
- Collects point‑of‑service payments, explains financial responsibilities, and refers patients to Financial Advocates when needed.
- Ensures accurate, complete accounts, maintains productivity and data quality, and supports clear communication and patient transparency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Six months of healthcare experience or one year of customer service.
- Must pass the two‑week Patient Access Academy with an 85% or higher. CHAA/CHAM or similar certification preferred.
- Basic understanding of insurance, medical terminology, billing codes, and registration processes is preferred.
