Responsibilities

  • Perform inorganic analytical measurements on grab and online samples, including ion chromatography (IC), inductively coupled plasma (ICP), titration, TGA, XRD and pH/conductivity measurements

  • Contribute to the safe management of the analytical laboratory, including chemical handling, waste disposal, and compliance with EHS requirements
  • Assist in compiling analytical results into technical reports and presentations for research and project teams
  • Participate in inter-laboratory comparisons or proficiency testing exercises as required

  • Required educational qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline. Relevant polytechnic diploma with substantial analytical laboratory experience may also be considered.

  • Hands-on experience with inorganic analytical techniques including IC, ICP-OES/MS, titration, and electrochemical measurements (pH, conductivity, DO)
  • Familiarity with grab sampling protocols and online process analyzer operation and maintenance
  • Proficiency in data processing, trend analysis, and reporting using standard software (e.g., Excel, Other industry standards)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and laboratory best practices
  • Knowledge of GLP/GMP principles and experience maintaining calibration and maintenance records
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced research environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for reporting analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning new techniques and methods

The candidate will be responsible for the accurate measurement and analysis of inorganic samples using a suite of laboratory and online analytical instruments. This role is integral to maintaining high-quality data streams that underpin research in areas such as seawater electrolysis, water parameter sampling and control, carbon dioxide removal, hydrogen production, and advanced energy materials. The Analytical Specialist will work closely with process engineers, research scientists, and project teams to deliver reliable analytical data and contribute to ERI@N's mission of translating research into real-world energy solutions.
