The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Technical Training Instructor performing all classroom and hands-on/performance training activities and as a subject matter expert for curriculum development, revisions, and/or modification of technical training courses in the Electrical Systems Schoolhouse. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: Work or instruction may be conducted indoors or outdoors, subject to cold, heat, and/or dust, in an environment with slippery or uneven walking surfaces and moving parts from machines, objects, or vehicles, on top of ladders or scaffolding, utility poles, and below ground. Additionally, work may include working around or on live 7200 voltage circuits or less, around radiant energy, and exposure to irritant chemicals and noise. Employees may be required to apply safeguards and/or use protective clothing or gear such as masks, boots, goggles, hearing protection, gloves, shields, fire retardant suits, cold weather gear, and other personal protective equipment. Long periods of standing (8 hours per day); walking over rough, uneven, slippery, and/or rocky surfaces; bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, stretching, pushing, pulling, reaching; climbing up to 40 feet using both hands and feet; lifting (80 lbs and over) and carrying (45 lbs or over). Use of fingers, both hands, and both legs required. Above-average agility and dexterity are required. The specific visual requirement is normal vision. Normal depth perception is required. Ability to distinguish basic colors required. Hearing (aid permitted). Rapid mental and muscular coordination are simultaneously required. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: This is a CCAF POSITION. Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Master's, or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited college or university or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position of a Training Instructor. My education demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of a Training Instructor. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application.
