- Respond to Rapid Response and Code Blue calls
- Assist with patient transport (land/air) and emergency interventions
- Equipment and Safety Oversight
- Maintain equipment according to safety and infection control guidelines
- Troubleshoot and document equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs
- Education and Mentorship
- Precept new staff, Respiratory Therapy students, and nursing residents
- Support clinical education and departmental training initiatives
- Certification and Clinical Advancement
- Maintain current AHA certifications; NRP certification required in facilities with Obstetric services
- Meet and maintain the clinical ladder criteria of a Level II Respiratory Therapist
Requirements
- Required:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) in Massachusetts
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC
- Current BLS certification
- Preferred:
- Prior experience in acute or critical care settings
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (or willingness to obtain, as applicable)
- Familiarity with EPIC or other EMR systems
