Responsibilities

  • Run a safe and compliant plant that complies with local legislation and PPG EHSMS Requirements.
  • Oversee quality control systems to meet automotive industry standards (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
  • Drive and monitor production to achieve production targets
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational performance
  • Lead, coach, and guide development of plant staff to achieve performance goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and performance culture.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through on-time delivery and quality performance.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency gains.
  • Ensure active leadership in PPG policy and practice, particularly in EHS, business conduct, ethics and quality.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years in industrial/production-based role in senior and managerial positions
  • Demonstrated change management experience both in manufacturing projects and cultural change
  • Superb interpersonal skills that will allow you to overcome technical or relationship barriers and resistance to change
  • Experience leading operations across multiple business units or products within a single facility
  • Demonstrated track record in managing a unionized workforce and handling collective bargaining, grievances, and industrial relations

Additional Information

You will provide strategic and operational direction to all the operation activities at the Petaling Jaya Plant. As the Plant Manager, you will oversee all operations of the plant, ensuring efficient production, compliance with industry standards and plant-wide safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. You will identify and lead continuous improvement projects. You will be on site and will report to the Manufacturing Director, Southeast Asia.
