Responsibilities

We are seeking a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering Intern to join the Manufacturing Systems Engineering department for the Summer of 2026. The Manufacturing Systems Engineering group designs and implements equipment for the production of instruments and consumables here at the 10x manufacturing facility. In this 10-12 week internship, the intern will study the material flow and handling of all of the parts for the instrument production process. The intern will then execute on the improvements to make the manufacturing flow and handling for efficient production. This internship offers an opportunity to learn how to lay out the workflow of a production line to increase efficiency, learn how to identify bottlenecks in a process, and learn and apply the 5S methodology. The intern will also gain experience with drafting robust work instructions and test methods, as well as develop experience in CAD software like AutoCad.
