Responsibilities

  • The candidate will drive day-to-day communications efforts in Iberia, shaping and enhancing the firm's message and brand locally. The role reports into the Head of Continental Europe Communications.

  • What will you be doing
  • Partner closely with senior leadership, sales, marketing, and investment teams to deliver integrated communications programs aligned with business objectives for BlackRock in Iberia.
  • Execute media strategies, including story development, spokesperson positioning, and relationship management with top-tier business, financial, and trade media across print, broadcast, digital, and social channels.
  • Coordinate and manage media engagements, public speaking opportunities, press events, roundtables, and educational forums to strengthen BlackRock's local profile.
  • Manage media enquiries efficiently and effectively, providing sound judgment and counsel in fast-moving or sensitive situations.
  • Support reputation and issues management in Iberia, working closely with senior management and regional/global communications colleagues.
  • Track, analyse, and report on communications effectiveness, share of voice, and reputational impact to inform strategy over time.
  • Manage the day-to-day activity of the PR agency for the region.
  • Build strong working relationships across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific to ensure alignment and operational synergies.
  • What are we looking for?
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or financial PR, either in-house or at an agency.
  • A strong interest in and understanding of the financial services industry; asset management experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to execute communications campaigns that enhance reputation and support commercial priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the media landscape in Spain and Portugal, supported by a strong local network and a solid understanding of international tier one media and the evolving communications landscape, including social media strategy and execution.
  • Energetic, proactive, and resilient self-starter with strong judgment and intellectual agility.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required; Portuguese proficiency is strongly preferred.
