Position Summary: The Sr. Manager, Major Maintenance reports to the Director Heavy Maintenance, and has direct oversight of the assigned Major Maintenance activities including direct supervision of Maintenance Field Representatives to ensure the highest degree of Compliance, Reliability and Technical Support that support the company's economical, initiatives and metrics are met. Major Job Accountabilities: Lead Direct Reports in Preparing and Prioritizing Major Maintenance activities as requested by the Maintenance Planning department. Prepare, recommend and manage annual fiscal operating and capital budgets for the department. Review in detail, Maintenance performance data and analyze the information to determine appropriate maintenance actions were applied. Lead Direct Reports, Contractors and Vendors to economically support operations and return aircraft to service in a safe, airworthy, and timely manner. Be a departmental leader in the development and/or obtaining approved data, acceptable data, and Alternate Methods of Compliance (AMOCs) for repairs, alterations, and modifications. Update technical source documents as applicable to insure accuracy. Lead and support the team with integration of new and previously operated aircraft. Liaise with manufacturers; maintenance representatives, repair & overhaul (MRO) facilities; regulatory personnel; and other outside agencies. Participate in industry working groups, industry steering committees, industry meetings, and conferences. Review work of consultant, contract Maintenance. Evaluate Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Notices of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRMs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Service Letters (SLs), and other notifications of in-service issues. Ability to author and implement Standard Operating Procedures and Product improvement initiatives. Work with original equipment manufacturers on emerging issues to help ensure safety and airworthiness, but also minimize the economic impact. Organize, develop and provide all necessary Major Maintenance documentation required to complete aircraft powerplant modifications and repairs within the allocated time schedule while meeting planned budgetary goals. Establish component repair and build specifications to enhance dispatch reliability in accordance with budgetary and regulatory requirements. Provide technical support to Technical Operations, Ground Operations, Flight Operations, and other Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings personnel. Analyze and arrive at the root causes of scheduled maintenance issues, recommending problem-solving solutions. Train, develop and coach, assign duties and work schedules, and supervise the activities of all Field Representatives. Recommend, develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the department's goals. Provide current written policies addressing improvement in Reliability and Performance that support Maintenance Department goals. Review the Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection Program, and initiate maintenance program changes and changes to maintenance documents.
