Responsibilities

Union: ONA New or Replacement Position: Replacement Number of Vacancies: 1 Site: Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Department: 14A and 15A Inpatient Leukemia Units Reports to: Nurse Manager Wage Range: $41.15 - $58.98 per hour (start rate is non-negotiable) Hours: Variable as required Shifts: Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays 12 hours shifts - Variable as required Status: Casual Closing Date: June 25, 2026 Position Summary The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre has 12 site groups and 26 specialty clinics, and almost 3,000 staff who see over 400,000 patient visits every year. Its 800,000 square feet house 130 inpatient beds, 373,000 square feet of research space and 17 radiation treatment machines, making it one of the largest comprehensive cancer treatment facilities in the world and the largest radiation treatment centre in Canada. As a member of the interdisciplinary Team, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, the UHN Professional Practice Model and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN to provide compassionate, collaborative and competent care, while meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession. Inpatient Leukemia consists of two units 14A and 15A with skilled oncology nurses working in a team model approach caring for newly diagnosed Leukemia patients. The team members are able to build therapeutic relationships with patients and families during their length of stay which averages about 1 month. The team members are positive and passionate about achieving best patient care outcomes by advocating for safety. The unit has a dedicated Advance Practice Nurse Educators and Patient Care Coordinator shared within the Leukemia program to support nursing and the multidisciplinary team members. There are educational opportunities available for all staff to enhance their knowledge and skill. As a member of the UHN and the Nursing Multi-disciplinary Team, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession.
