Additional Information
The mission of The New York Times is to seek the truth and help people understand the world. That means independent journalism is at the heart of all we do as a company. It's why we have a world-renowned newsroom that sends journalists to report on the ground from nearly 160 countries. It's why we focus deeply on how our readers will experience our journalism, from print to audio to a world-class digital and app destination. And it's why our business strategy centers on making journalism so good that it's worth paying for. New York Times Cooking is looking for a strategic, dynamic and discerning editor to lead our talent strategy work, with a focus on cooking video. Working cross-functionally with other leaders on the team, you'll expand and help program our roster of superb contributors, who appear on our platforms and social channels, but increasingly also in Cooking content on their own channels. You'll identify and engage with skilled recipe creators who are adept at cooking on camera and connecting with an audience - managing scouting, outreach, creative development and the relationships over time. The ideal candidate is an electric and innovative strategic thinker with big ideas and a passion for food. You have the presence to represent Cooking in conversations externally and the confidence to develop and advocate for strategy internally. Expertise on the competitive landscape and YouTube, Instagram and TikTok is essential to success in this role, as is a knack for identifying the best and most unique voices in food. This is an in-office position, based in New York City, and includes regular attendance in the office four days each week. There may be some flexibility to work remotely per your departmental guidance.
