Sabre is looking for a highly technical Principal Product Owner to lead our API design governance, with a specialized focus on Agentic-Ready architectures. In this role, you will be responsible for the product vision, standardization, and execution of our API portfolio Design and Governance framework, ensuring it meets the highest standards for both human developers and artificial intelligence. Your mission is to enable Sabre teams deliver a strong Developer and Agent Experience (AX) across our ecosystem. You will establish the governance structures that dictate how Sabre develops, deploys, documents, and measures the effectiveness of APIs in the AI era. Treating our APIs as products, you will champion documentation strategies that empower customers globally to rapidly integrate our services without frustration. As a Principal Product Owner, you will drive transformation programs that migrate legacy protocols (like SOAP) to modern architectures (REST, RPC, and Agentic) while coaching API designers to improve consumer adoption. This role requires a comprehensive development background, deep technical curiosity, and the strategic foresight to prepare Sabre's platform for an LLM-driven future. Role and Responsibilities API Governance & Agentic Standards Strategy: Define and enforce Sabre API governance standards across the organization, establishing definitive methodologies for API design reviews. Establish and govern Agentic-Ready API design standards, ensuring our ecosystem architecture directly aligns with business intent and simplifies complex internal orchestrations. Set strategic guardrails for secure and efficient AI integrations, addressing critical factors such as context window limits, payload optimization, and prompt security. Mandate standards for scenario-rich, realistic examples that provide clear context and guidance for both human developers and AI agents. Oversee the production of supplemental Developer artifacts that accelerate integration, including User Guides, interactive collections, Migration Guides, and Workflow demonstrations. Technical Transformation & Execution: Be a key player in transformation programs, moving legacy standards (e.g., SOAP) to modern RESTful, RPC, and Agentic-Ready API ecosystems. Oversee the creation of well-organized OpenAPI Specification files and confirm they meet strict quality test thresholds. Guarantee backwards compatibility, versioned changes, and safe architectural practices to ensure stable behavior for agent retries. Analyze, triage, and troubleshoot complex architectural API issues across a geographically distributed engineering organization. Qualifications and Education Requirements Core Experience: 7+ years of comprehensive software development and technical product management experience. Highly Sought After: Direct experience within the last 12 months bringing agentic/AI solutions to market, specifically defining the standards, documentation, and measurement frameworks for AI-driven tools.
