Responsibilities

  • Design, engineering, and production of multispecific biologics to support AbbVie's Oncology therapeutic area; apply design and engineering experience with multispecific biologics for ADC and immuno-oncology applications.

  • PhD or MS degree in Biochemistry, Biochemical engineering or related disciplines + (PhD) or 12+ (MS) years of experience in multispecific engineering or antibody engineering
  • Experience with protein, biologics, fragments, or multispecifics (e.g. bispecifics, trispecifics, bispecific protein fusions) design, expression and purification
  • In-depth knowledge of the multispecific landscape, trends in design, and application across therapeutic areas including immunology, oncology, and neuroscience
  • Ability to recognize emerging areas of interest in multispecific engineering, antibody engineering, and related fields, and make connections between research ideas to advance platforms and programs
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Team player with the ability to operate in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment
  • Candidate must be a goal-oriented team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong can-do attitude

Requirements

  • Experience with sequence analysis tools (Vector NTI, Geneious, Genedata)
  • Experience with mass spectrometry analysis and software (Protein Metrics)
  • Experience with CRO coordination for production
  • Expert understanding of current state of protein expression/separation/analytical technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of biologic pipeline progression from exploratory through candidate nomination with program management experience preferred
  • Experience managing direct reports and providing performance evaluations and development opportunities
  • Recognized in the scientific community through a sustained record of peer-reviewed publications and patents preferred
