Responsibilities

  • This position resides within the Engineering Programs group.
  • Experience with nuclear Engineering Programs ownership, particularly Component Programs, is preferred with an emphasis on the Steam Generator Program and Heat Exchanger Programs.
  • Component Program engineer is responsible for managing the overall compliance and health of a nuclear mechanical component program
  • Achieve expert level knowledge in the assigned program area.
  • Monitor and manage component performance through field walkdowns, trending, condition evaluation, and implementation of effective preventive and corrective maintenance strategies
  • Provide technical support for event investigation, troubleshooting, regulatory correspondence, and design modifications.
  • Evaluate risks and develop in-depth risk mitigation and elimination strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, quality assurance, and radiation protection regulations.
  • Monitor and review the implementation of NRC regulations, ANSI/ANS standards, and ASME codes.
  • Control costs through the optimization of resources and tracking expenditures within budget parameters.
  • Use periodic self-assessments and industry benchmarking to drive continued improvement in program effectiveness and component performance.
  • Will work a 4x10 schedule (four 10-hour days). Must be local and onsite for outages.
  • Preferred engineering degrees: Mechanical, Chemical, and Nuclear.

Requirements

  • Nuclear Engineer Associate/ Salary Grade 6: $74,551 - $93,188
  • Acceptable alternative is:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
  • **VP or above may waive the requirement for a degree from a university with a Non-ABET accredited program
  • Nuclear Engineer/ Salary Grade 7: $87,633 - $109,544
  • Has typically acquired 2 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*, Individuals with a Master's degree in engineering
