Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Research)

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and mentorship to postgraduate medical students undertaking research projects.
• Deliver teaching in research methodology, epidemiology, biostatistics, research ethics, study design, scientific writing, and research reporting.
• Assist students in the development, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of research projects.
• Supervise MD research project students.
• Provide statistical consultation and guidance to students and academic staff.
• Collaborate with research supervisors, Heads of Clinical Schools, Research Coordinators, and other stakeholders to support research education activities.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in scholarly and research activities aligned with the University's strategic priorities.
• About You
• To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
• A PhD in Medical Research, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience teaching research methods, epidemiology, biostatistics, and related research subjects at tertiary level.
• Demonstrated expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and study design.
• Advanced proficiency in statistical software packages such as SPSS, R, SAS, and Excel.
• Experience supervising postgraduate or higher degree research students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across academic and clinical environments.
• A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, student support, and research.
• Desirable
• Experience working within medical, health sciences, or clinical education programs.
• Experience supporting large cohorts of postgraduate research students.
• A track record of scholarly activity and research outputs relevant to the discipline.
