About the role

To maintain a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation across the childcare centre, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning & Housekeeping
• Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, common areas, kitchen, toilets, and outdoor play areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors and surfaces
• Clean and sanitise high-touch areas such as door handles, tables, chairs, toys, and equipment
• Ensure all learning materials and toys are regularly cleaned and disinfected
• Sanitation & Hygiene
• Maintain strict hygiene standards in accordance with childcare and health regulations
• Clean and sanitise toilets, wash basins, and diaper-changing areas frequently
• Dispose of waste properly, including diapers and general refuse
• Support to Centre Operations
• Assist in setting up and clearing classrooms, dining areas, and activities when required
• Refill supplies such as soap, tissue paper, cleaning materials, and sanitation products
• Support in simple kitchen cleaning duties (e.g. washing utensils, maintaining cleanliness of food preparation areas)
• Health & Safety Compliance
• Adhere to workplace safety guidelines and proper use of cleaning chemicals
• Ensure cleaning products are stored safely away from children
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or hazards to the Centre Principal or relevant personnel

Requirements

• Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping preferred (especially in schools, childcare, or healthcare settings)
• Able to perform manual cleaning tasks
• Knowledge of basic hygiene and sanitation practices
• Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently
• Good attitude and willingness to support a childcare environment
