About the role

DuPont Diversified Industrials Advanced Mobility Aero & Industrials has an exciting and challenging position as a Technical Service & Development (TS&D) Specialist for MOLYKOTE® specialty lubricants. MOLYKOTE® specialty lubricants are designed and engineered to solve lubrication-related problems and save energy by reducing friction and wear. We offer a broad portfolio of specialty lubricants including greases, anti-seize pastes, multipurpose oils, specialty compounds, dispersions, anti-friction coatings and more, for a wide range of applications in automotive, industrial, appliance and maintenance. The TS&D Specialist will support the MOLYKOTE® specialty lubricants business in China with a dual focus on application development and product development. The job holder will work closely with the local TS&D team, business development, sales, distributors, customers, and global/regional R&D teams to identify and win opportunities, translate customer and market needs into effective technical solutions, develop and qualify new products based on customized performance requirements, support application validation and customer qualification, coordinate new product launches, and serve as a key mechanism to feedback regional needs to marketing and R&D to better position MOLYKOTE® specialty lubricants and drive sustainable business growth for the region.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with development of product value-propositions and understand competitive landscape.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain technical guides and marketing literature.
  • Conduct technical presentations at company meetings, technical conferences, and customer/partner facilities.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for improvement and business gains. Assist regional commercial and marketing team to develop and achieve business growth plans.
  • Build lab capabilities including new equipment, processes and test methods where needed.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness at the program level and is a vocal safety advocate in all operations at the department level.

Requirements

  • Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Chemistry/Material Science/Chemical Engineering or related science background is required. Master's candidate is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in specialty lubricants, lubricants, tribology, electronics materials, adhesives, coatings, or related material/application development fields is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, understand, and define customer needs, and to drive both new application development and new product development to meet customer and market requirements.
  • Experience with specialty lubricant technologies/applications, tribology testing, and/or material development for electronics, adhesives, or coating applications is preferred.
  • Strong background in problem solving, using multiple analytical procedures to identify and characterize product development barriers.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze prior art and incorporate information and knowledge management tools and systems into work. Proficiently use patent analysis tools to maintain expert understanding of a technology/market area.
  • Demonstrated ability to make clear, persuasive, concise, and well-organized oral presentations.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing to team members and management on all aspects of program activity. Excellent English communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Must be able to work well in teams and to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Willingness to travel, about 20-30% of the time.
