The Wilmar Oleo Chemicals & Biofuels Lab has currently one opening position for Assistant Research Officer / Research Officer. Job Responsibilities: Supports formulation development, product evaluation, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to successfully commercialize. Design and execute laboratory experiments and formulation trials. Conduct physical, chemical, and sensory evaluations of formulations. Perform stability studies under various storage conditions. Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and experimental records. Conduct sample analysis for physical properties utilizing specific analytical equipment, such as viscometer, foam analyzer, Diastron combing machine, GPC, HPLC, etc. Conduct research on new raw materials, formulation technologies, and industry trends. Assist Quality Assurance during product investigations and manufacturing trials. Recommend process improvements to enhance laboratory efficiency and product development. Maintain laboratory documentation (equipment manuals, equipment standard operating procedures, maintenance records, safety data sheets and inventory record for regulated chemicals). Other administrative duties including but not limited to ordering chemicals and laboratory equipment, requesting for quotations and monitoring equipment calibration. Job Requirements: Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Life Sciences. Minimum 2 years of experience in cosmetic or personal care R&D is highly preferred. Knowledge of cosmetic formulation principles and ingredient functionality. Understanding of emulsion systems, surfactants, polymers, and rheology modifiers. Basic understanding of cosmetic regulations and product safety requirements. Good written and oral communication skills. Good time management and ability to manage multiple projects. Team player with initiative, drive, and good communication skills.
