Technical Officer

About the role

Conduct site surveys and condition assessments; produce technical reports with recommendations and risk/issue logs. Prepare and review drawings, specifications, schedules of work, and cost estimates (e.g., minor works, adaptations, maintenance, product applications). Check contractor proposals, method statements, and RAMS for compliance with standards, regulations, and client requirements. Inspect works at key stages; verify quality, progress, and adherence to technical specifications; issue defect/snags lists and close‑out actions. Coordinate with internal teams (surveyors, designers, OTs, sales/commercial) and external stakeholders (contractors, suppliers, building control, fire authorities). Manage small to medium work packages from brief to handover: programming, procurement support, site coordination, and documentation. Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and codes (e.g., building regulations, CDM, fire safety, HHSRS where applicable). Keep accurate records in project/asset IT systems; produce progress, compliance, and completion reports. Provide technical advice to colleagues and clients, including product/system selection, NBS specifications, and BIM/asset data updates. Support continuous improvement: standard details, specifications, lessons learned, and technical guidance notes.
