[What the role is] The Waste Management Division (WMD) is responsible for the regulation of the waste management industry and implementation of key initiatives under the Zero Waste Master Plan, to achieve an efficient and sustainable waste-to-resource management system in Singapore. The Waste Collection Department (WCD) under WMD administers the Public Waste Collection scheme, regulates General Waste Collectors, implements Pneumatic Waste Conveyance System and Code of Practice requirements and carries out enforcements against breaches of legislative and licensing provisions, to ensure that waste is properly collected for disposal or recycling. We are seeking motivated individuals responsible for the management of General Waste Collectors and enforcement against general waste collection offences. [What you will be working on] Your scope of work will include but not be limited to: Attend to public feedback and enquiries on general waste collection Conduct site inspections for issues related to general waste collection Investigate general waste collection offences and put up recommendation reports for enforcement Engage licensees, premises managers and owners, and members of the public on issues related to general waste collection Manage in-house software system for data and documentation submitted by licensees Perform checks and verifications of data and documentation submitted by licensees through in-house software system Perform data analysis and generate reports for supervisors Assist with other ad-hoc work, projects and events as assigned [What we are looking for] The job might be for you if you possess the following requirements: Diploma in environmental-related discipline is preferred IT-savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Resourceful and able to work independently Self-driven and always ready to strive for improvement Possess good time management skills to manage a range of work tasks with specified timelines (e.g. conducting site inspections, putting up enforcement reports, assessing submissions by licensees). Relevant skills and experience such as field enforcement and conduct of investigations will be advantageous Meticulous, detail-oriented and analytical A team player with good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate in Mandarin would be an advantage. Able and willing to work outdoors, weekends and after working hours, when required Preferable to hold Class 3 driving licence and willing to drive company's passenger van for outdoor assignments Interest in waste management and environmental issues Flexible, adaptable, and ready to respond to operational changes As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
