Position Context: In support of the McGill Desautels Faculty of Management that serves a population of over 3,000 students and over 30,000 alumni, the McGill Desautels engagement team is committed to enhance the student experience, build the foundation for a meaningful and connected relationship with the young alumni population and increase and deepen affinity for alumni that have become seasoned professionals so that they can contribute to the faculty's mission as stated in the Desautels Strategic Framework . The McGill Desautels Faculty of Management engagement team continues to build and maintain meaningful relationships between the faculty and its former students (alumni/graduates), aiming to foster a sense of community, provide networking opportunities, and enhance the institution's reputation through graduate involvement in various activities like mentoring and volunteering. McGill Desautels Faculty of Management, like business schools across North America and around the world, needs to have a robust engagement architecture to ensure that revenue-generating programs (through student tuition), ranked programs (MBA Program is #1 for ROI in Canada in 2025 and #2 for Compensation and Networking) and highly competitive undergraduate programs, like the BCom, are sustainable. Amidst shrinking revenue sources at McGill University, it is imperative that the business school continues to strengthen and deepen relationships with graduates. Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Philanthropic Advisor, the incumbent will administer all Desautels community outreach activities in relation to the faculty's alumni relations strategy. The incumbent will support central University Advancement engagement activities, including logistics support for Desautels hosted events, individual communication with alumni and supporting student event execution and administer the implementation at the faculty level for a network of alumni and volunteers world-wide. The role will also provide support in relationship management activities for constituents to generate maximum benefit for the faculty's mission. Also, the role will contribute to the implementation of short and long-term plans related to alumni relations. The incumbent will assist with alumni volunteer programs such as the Faculty Advisory and Advancement Board; and work with Faculty-based partners and University Advancement in the development and execution of outreach activities for alumni, students, parents with the goal of feeding into the fundraising pipeline to seek affinity and philanthropy. Primary Responsibilities: Act as the contact person for Desautels alumni outreach events to build and foster key relationships with key constituents (alumni/donors, parents & students). Administer and determine logistics for each event, i.e. compile guest invitee list, prepare Order of Proceedings (OOP), briefing notes and coordinate with Communications team Dean's for speaking notes and reviews content. Responsible for any follow-ups related to event. Liaise and assist other Faculty units with joint events with high alumni participation such Career Services and program offices. Administer and provide support on other key Desautels events and activities such as: Desautels Management Achievement Award (President and Vice-Chancellor attends this event), VIP convocation seating, Honorary Doctorate events, and BCom Orientation session. Liaise with Communications Team for OOP and speaking notes for special outreach events requiring the Dean's presence. Review copy for content and accuracy. Administer Faculty representation for external events, such as CORIM (Conseil des relations internationales de Montréal), AMBA (Association des MBA du Quebec), Chambre de Commerce du Montreal. Provide logistical support for the biannual Faculty International Advisory and Advancement Board. Provide guidance and support to student groups for events that are funded by donations/gifts to the Faculty such as the Desautels Management Achievement Awards, Faculty signature event. Recommend potential nominees, sponsorship opportunities, assist with OOP, logistics. Prepare Dean's communications to nominees, alumni briefings and provides Communications Team with necessary information to prepare Dean's speaking notes. Review copy for content and accuracy. Develop correspondence for Dean's signature for top alumni for congratulations and condolences. Other duties: administer and update Faculty pages on website, alumni events, and notable alumni.
